2025 January 17 - Updates to NebCompute and the Console
We are delighted to kick off 2025 with a major update to NebCompute and the Nebula Console! This update is all about helping you manage resources more effectively and ensuring that your services are always available.
What's new?
Load balancing is now available in NebCompute! Use load balancers to automatically distribute incoming requests and network traffic among custom server groups. Nebula's load balancers enable you to fine-tune your network traffic management with listeners and multiple load balancing algorithm choices. Check out the documentation for more details.
Cloud-init scripts are now supported during the NebCompute server creation process! Upload your own custom initialization scripts to automate server configuration and ensure that your infrastructure is consistent and scalable. Find out more in the documentation!
To help you navigate the new and existing features in the Nebula Console, we have created a more streamlined navigation menu! This is a quality-of-life improvement—getting around the Console and creating new resources is now more straightforward than ever.
Visit the Nebula Console and try it now!
Coming soon
Exciting new features are coming soon! Regions and region-based resource management, load balancer health checks, and SSL management are on the way!
Check out our product roadmap to see what we're working on.
2024 December 17 - NebCompute updates
We are happy to bring you two important enhancements to NebCompute!
To increase the security of your Nebula instances, every new security group now has these default inbound and outbound rules:
- by default, all incoming traffic is blocked
- all outgoing traffic is allowed
Create your own rules to control network traffic! Check out the documentation for more details.
The available software images for new server instances now include Windows and CentOS:
- For Windows, both Datacenter and Standard versions of Windows Server are available
- For CentOS, a wide variety of versions and configurations are available ranging from 6.10 to 8.2
For the full list of image versions, visit the Nebula Console and create a new instance.
2024 November - monthly release notes
We are excited to announce a major update to NebCompute! This release brings enhanced security, fine-grained access management, and more flexible options for attaching block storage to your servers.
What's new?
VPCs and Subnets: you can now create Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) with custom subnets for your servers. VPCs allow you to define IP address ranges and subnets, giving you full control over your virtual network environment. Organize and segment your resources with ease, while ensuring secure access.
RSA Key Pair Authentication: you can now use key pair authenticaion for secure remote access to your servers.
Custom Security Groups: Nebula now enables you to create custom security groups to define inbound and outbound rules, giving you full control over the network traffic to and from your servers.
Attached Block Storage: attach block storage during server creation or after commissioning, and customize the size and number of block storage as needed.
Visit the Nebula Console and try these features now!
Coming soon
We’re actively working on more features, including enhanced server management, cloud-init scripts for easy server initialization, and load balancers for improved traffic distribution.

2024 November 27 - NebStore updates
Nebula now provides secure access to objects in private storage buckets. You can access these objects using signed URLs.
Both the Console and the NebStore API return a secure token
for each private storage bucket, enabling you to directly access and share objects.
Read more about using signed URLs in the NebStore guide.
2024 November 25 - API rate limits
In order to provide uninterrupted services across our products, requests to the NebStore API are rate limited at 100 requests per minute, based on your IP address. The API responds with 429 Too Many Requests
when you exceed the limitation.
Read more about API rate limits and the response headers we use in the API reference.
2024 October - monthly release notes
Updates to NebStore
This month we are excited to announce a major release for our cloud storage service - the NebStore SDK and API are now live!
You can now programmatically manage your storage buckets and objects through a straightforward REST API, and a robust SDK built on Node.js.
Check out the NebStore API reference and the SDK documentation to learn more.
New functionality in the Console
To simplify your development work, the Nebula Console now displays the API key needed to interact with the NebStore API.
API keys are handled on a project level. This means that you can use the same API key to interact with all buckets and objects within a project. API key usage brings improved security measures to the way you can use Nebula.
Visit the Nebula console to get your API keys via the Settings → Projects page, and read the API reference for more details about authentication.
Fresh documentation
You might have noticed already, but Nebula’s developer documentation is now completely revamped! Browse around and give us some feedback!
Whether you are evaluating, onboarding, or already using Nebula, we appreciate your opinion. We want to make sure that we develop the tools you need.
What's next?
We continue to build and improve Nebula. Check out our public roadmap to see what's coming next!
